Broadway at the Beach

Broadway at the Beach is one of Myrtle Beach’s major entertainment districts. Despite the name, it is inland rather than directly on the beach, built around a large lake with restaurants, shops and attractions.

It works particularly well when your group wants several different activities in one place or when beach weather is less cooperative.

More than shopping

The district mixes retail with entertainment, dining and family attractions. Exactly what is open changes over time, so I would check the current lineup rather than relying on an old list of businesses.

You can easily spend several hours here without committing to every attraction.

Evening works well

Broadway at the Beach becomes especially lively later in the day, when restaurants and entertainment take over from the afternoon shopping crowd.

Families may prefer an earlier visit, while adults looking for nightlife can stay later.

I would not substitute Broadway at the Beach for the actual coast. Instead, use it as a contrast: beach and boardwalk during one part of the day, then head inland for dinner and entertainment.

Myrtle Beach is built around vacation variety, and this district represents that side of the destination perfectly. It is commercial, energetic and unapologetically designed to keep visitors entertained.
