Cherry Grove occupies the northern end of North Myrtle Beach and has long been associated with beach vacations, fishing and a more relaxed coastal atmosphere.
It is a useful option for visitors who want to stay on the Grand Strand but do not need central Myrtle Beach attractions immediately outside the hotel.
Beach first
The Atlantic shoreline is the main reason to come. Long walks, sunrise and uncomplicated beach days fit Cherry Grove better than a packed sightseeing schedule.
The area around the pier has traditionally been a local landmark and gathering point, although coastal structures can be affected by storms and repairs, so check current access before making specific plans.
Good for the northern Grand Strand
Cherry Grove works especially well if your itinerary focuses on North Myrtle Beach and nearby coastal areas. Central Myrtle Beach remains reachable, but traffic can make the journey longer than the map suggests.
I would therefore choose your accommodation based on where you expect to spend most days.
Cherry Grove is not dramatically removed from the larger resort region. Its appeal is subtler: you retain restaurants, vacation services and a long beach while stepping away from some of the intensity associated with the heart of Myrtle Beach.
