Garden City Beach

Garden City Beach lies south of Surfside Beach and just north of Murrells Inlet, making it a convenient base for visitors who want to spend more time on the southern Grand Strand.

The atmosphere is centred on the beach and vacation accommodation rather than major tourist attractions.

Slow the trip down

This is the kind of place where the daily routine can be simple: beach in the morning, lunch nearby, another walk by the water and perhaps an evening trip to Murrells Inlet.

That may sound uneventful, but for many visitors it is exactly what a coastal holiday should be.

A useful southern location

Garden City makes excursions to Huntington Beach State Park, Brookgreen Gardens and Murrells Inlet particularly easy. Central Myrtle Beach attractions remain within reach when you want them.

As elsewhere along the Grand Strand, exact conditions around piers, beach accesses and coastal facilities can change after storms, so current local information is worth checking.

I would consider Garden City Beach for families, couples and repeat visitors who already know they do not need to be beside the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk every evening.

You still have access to the wider resort region, but the holiday can revolve more naturally around the ocean itself.
